The Boathouse, Splinter Creek's first residence, has a Southern modern style that's warm and rustic, yet sleek and contemporary. Hovering over the pristine waters of the North Lake, the home offers a front-row seat to the changing moods of the land, lake, and abundance of wildlife activity.
The homeowners, who are also the Splinter Creek community founders, built their dream home, wanting a modern lake house to serve as the place their children and grandchildren could gather for long weekend and holidays. Their quiet retreat is surrounded by nature.
They worked with architectural firm Lake|Flato to design both the Boathouse and Splinter Creekâs overall master plan. The firm has a reputation as a national leader in master planning and design of eco-conservation projects. Their design process started with a comprehensive understanding of the environmental and cultural context and employed sustainable strategies unique to the region.
