When the sun comes back out, so does the fun! North Mississippi shines during spring festival season. Here are some of our favorite events happening close to Splinter Creek in the next few weeks.
1. Water Valley Wine Down
Thursday, March 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in downtown Water Valley.
Head to downtown Water Valley for wine tasting and a fun, unique shopping experience. Registration is $20 and includes the wine tasting at participating businesses and a collectible wine tumbler. After you register, you will pick up a wristband for the wine tasting and your collectible wine tumbler at the Pocket Park on Main Street on the day of event (Thursday, March 31). Pick up begins at 4:30 p.m.
2. Double Decker Arts Festival
April 22-23, 2022, the Oxford Square
The annual two day celebration of food, music, and the arts returns to the Oxford Square after a two-year covid hiatus. This year's Double Decker music headliners include Mavis Staples and Trombone Shorty.
3. Ole Miss Grove Bowl
April 23 at noon, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
The Ole Miss football team hosts the 2022 Grove Bowl, the finale of the Rebels' spring drills. Television and general gameday information for the annual intrasquad scrimmage will be announced in the weeks ahead.
4. The End of All Music and Wonderbird Spirits present MusiCares Benefit Concert
Sunday, May 1st at 3 p.m. at Wonderbird Spirits gin distillery in Taylor.
The End of All Music continues its 10th anniversary celebration with a special event on May 1. The End of All Music and Wonderbird Spirits present a MusiCares benefit concert with a performance by Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy as Superwolves with Emmett Kelly. Patrons are encouraged to come early for food and drinks, enjoy the distillery, hang out, and settle in for a great afternoon of music. Tickets are $25 in advance.
