Get Outdoors for the Biggest Supermoon of the Year

Sonia Thompson

If winter has had you cozied up with Netflix, then use next week to get off the couch and enjoy the night sky. The biggest supermoon of the year can be seen on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Also called the Super Snow Moon, the Storm Moon, and the Hunger Moon because of its occurrence during what is typically the coldest time of year, February's supermoon is a wonder to behold.

The Snow Moon will illuminate the night sky as it makes its closest approach to Earth in the lunar cycle, making it appear larger and brighter than usual. So grab a blanket and a warm beverage, and enjoy the view.
