Splinter Creek recently hosted models and photographers from Cicada, Oxford’s most fashion-forward women’s boutique, for a photo shoot on the property. The sleek model house and natural landscape were the perfect backdrop for the store’s fall line of cozy, neutral toned sweaters and sumptuous leather boots.
Opened in 1998 by Anne-Marie Varnell Gordon, Cicada will celebrate its 20th anniversary next fall and is a fashion cornerstone of the Oxford Square. The shop carries rag & bone, Rebecca Taylor, Frame Denim, Helmut Lang, Vince, and Mara Hoffman, among other high-end brands.
Gordon also makes an effort to showcase local talent, stocking jewelry and accessories by Oxford-area artisans Niett Metals and Taylor Wilkinson Designs. The artwork in Cicada is by her artist husband Bradley Gordon, whose large works of oil on canvas feature iconic southern animals. Gordon’s work is also displayed in Billy Reid stores across the South.
We were thrilled to host and collaborate with the Cicada team. Visit their website and check out their post on Splinter Creek here.
