Blue Crush

Sonia Thompson
Benjamin Moore named Blue Nova, an intergalactic blue-purple, as its 2024 Color of the Year.

We love talking about fall and all the things it brings to Splinter Creek -- cooler temperatures, porch season, crisp hikes around the lake -- but one unexpected thing it also brings is fresh color. Fall marks Color of the Year Season, a time when paint companies and trend forecasters crown the new "It hue" for the year ahead.

In 2024, the future is looking decidedly blue. Benjamin Moore, for example, named Blue Nova (825) as its Color of the Year for 2024. Inspired by exploration, the cosmic, blue-violet blend encourages adventure, beckoning everyone to indulge in new experiences. The paint brand teamed up with aerospace company Blue Origin to announce the color and work to inspire future generations to pursue STEM education and careers in the space industry.

This lean into adventure and new experiences dovetails beautifully with the overall ethos of our property. Our nature-centered design, that encourages homes to blend in with and becomes part of the natural landscape, offers ample opportunities to draw from nature inside, too.

Whether it's pulling blue hues from the color of our three spring-fed lakes, or finding the shade of blue that blends in with the night sky, nature is the focus of every Splinter Creek dwelling. Tell us, what do you think of the 2024 trend towards blue and how would you use it in your lake house?
